Maple Syrup

Trying to cut back on processed white granulated sugar? You might want to substitute maple syrup. Use it to sweeten coffee, tea, cold cereal, hot oatmeal, or even smoothies. But you want to make sure it’s pure maple syrup; not a “syrup” product like Aunt Jamima’s brand and others (sweetened by corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup).   Since March is maple syrup season, you should be able to find some great local choices. If local isn’t an option where you live; one of my favorites is the Fancy Maple Syrup from Carman Brook Farm in Vermont; www.cbmaplefarm.com/mapleclub.htm]]>
