Spotting/Assist: In a group class, it can be hard not to drop the energy when spotting a client who is in need of one-on-one attention. This is why music can really help support the class. Make sure to announce, “Keep going,” or announce how many more counts. Also, be sure that the class is on the beat of the music before leaving the group. This will give you, as an instructor, time to pay attention to the client who needs an assist. The music will keep the beat, or pulse, of the class so the instructor does not have to keep everyone together. Use the music as a spot for you! This was the class energy stays up and nobody misses a beat! -Michelle DuVall (Co-creator of BeyondBarre) ]]>
